The classes take from 3.5 to 5 days, depending on the number of students enrolled, and are capped at six students so you will get the practice and instructor attention you need. Online Exam: These two-hour exams will be scheduled the day after class sessions end. You are allowed to have a non-graphing calculator, an unmarked copy of the appropriate BPI Standard, and a formula reference sheet which is provided by BPI.Field Exams: These two-hour exams will be scheduled the afternoon after the online exam and for the following two to three days. We can accommodate other times for your field exam. We give you the time you need to prepare for the field exams and will adjust the length of training according to class size. For this exam, you are allowed to bring any reference materials and/or notes you wish, with the exception of online materials.

What is the Building Analyst Professional course?
This course is based upon the Building Performance Institute (BPI) standards for residential energy auditing. The BPI energy auditor training course prepares individuals to understand the components of building science, including combustion safety, blower door testing, energy efficiency and heat transfer, and how to conduct home performance assessments, or energy audits. At successful completion of the course, students should have the knowledge to identify and prioritize potential improvements to homes, and provide homeowners with the information necessary to reduce energy usage and costs.
Prerequisites: None, but experience in building trades is helpful.
Audience: This course is ideal for home inspectors, HVAC technicians, general contractors, home builders, students, and anyone interesting in understanding the house as a system or seeking a career in energy auditing.
What’s Included: Two days of instruction in a classroom setting, two to three days of field instruction in Denver area houses with a maximum of 6 students, written exam, field exam, and course materials (see below).
